By booking or engaging with The Scholar Studio's services you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure clarity, fairness, and professionalism for both parties.

1. Overview

The Scholar Studio provides personalised academic mentorship, primarily for students applying to Oxbridge Universities. Services are designed and delivered by experienced mentors with deep insight into admissions processes.

​

2. Services Provided

• One-to-one mentorship and academic coaching.

• Application guidance (e.g. personal statements, interviews, admissions tests).

• Tailored strategic advice based on student strengths.

• Ongoing support for confidence-building and clarity.​

• We do not and can not guarantee admission offers or outcomes.

• We cannot disclose the specific content of Interviews as per Oxbridge's policies.

3. Booking & Payment

• All consultations must be booked in advance via our official channels (Booking forms on www.thescholarstudio.com followed by email correspondence with enquiries@thescholarstudio.com).

• Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

• Package pricing is clearly listed at the time of purchase.

• Packages are to be paid for in full at the time of booking Consultation One unless a payment plan is requested.

• Payment plans are available for select packages upon request.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

• Missed sessions without notice may not be refunded or rescheduled. 

• In cases of emergency or illness, we aim to be flexible — please contact us as soon as possible.

• If your mentor needs to cancel or reschedule, we will aim to provide at least 24 hours' notice and will offer suitable alternatives at no extra cost to the client.

5. Refunds

• Refunds are available within 14 days of booking, provided no package consultations have been attended.

• Once programmes have commenced, refunds are not typically issued.

• Exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

6. Client Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the student's age, academic background and goals.

• Attend sessions on time and engage respectfully.

• Complete preparation work or tasks as requested.

• Use our materials and advice for personal use only.

• Understand that mentorship supports but does not replace personal effort.

• Provide contact information of a supporter for students under 18. 

• Understand that all supporters must be over 18 and adhere to this.

7. Mentor Responsibilities

• Deliver mentorship in a professional and ethical manner.

• Tailor advice to each student’s goals, strengths, and context.

• Have a valid clear Enhanced DBS Check. Certificates will be presented upon request. 

• Respect confidentiality and safeguard client's personal data.

8. Confidentiality & Data Protection​

• We may request anonymised feedback or testimonials — participation is optional unless you are participating in our Studio Preview programme.

• Upon submitting your feedback or testimonials you consent to their anonymised use in any advertisements for The Scholar Studio. We will remind you of this upon request of your feedback or testimonies.

• Clients of our Studio Preview programme are required to provide satisfactory feedback and testimonials in response to reasonable guided requests.

9. Intellectual Property

All resources, frameworks, programmes and written content provided by The Scholar Studio are the intellectual property of Elisha Carter and may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed without written permission.

10. Limitations of Liability

• We are not responsible for university admissions decisions.

• We are not liable for any direct or indirect losses arising from use of our services.

• You acknowledge that success depends on many factors beyond our control.

• We are not directly affiliated with Oxbridge universities. 

• All advice and materials are our own. They are formed based on in-depth research and lived-experience but do not reflect the views of Oxbridge universities or their official teams. 

• The Scholar Studio is not liable for any misrepresentation of age or other personal information provided by clients. Clients (or their guardians/supporters) are solely responsible for ensuring all submitted details are accurate and truthful.

The Scholar Studio aims to provide constructive, encouraging, and personalised guidance. However, we are not responsible for any emotional distress, disappointment, or perceived negative outcomes that may arise during or after participation in our services.

While every effort is made to ensure positive and supportive engagement, mentorship is a collaborative process, and outcomes — both emotional and academic — depend on multiple factors beyond our control.

11. The Legacy Fund

We are committed to widening access. 20% of our earnings post-tax go towards subsidising tuition for students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. This does not affect the quality or pricing of your service but ensures others can access the same support regardless of financial position. This fund is internally allocated as we are not registered as a charity.

12. Amendments to Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. Clients will be notified of significant changes in advance.

Our website and forms are powered by Wix.com, which securely stores your information in line with UK GDPR and international data protection standards.

We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary:

• Enquiries: up to 12 months after contact

• Clients: up to 3 years for ongoing support and record-keeping

• Testimonials: until you ask for removal

• Emails subscribed to our mailing list: until you unsubscribe

You can request deletion of data at any time.
